SFA Conference Media Credential Policy
Media Registration Guidelines
SFA meetings and conferences, including SNAXPO, the annual SFA convention and trade show, are industry events and closed to the general public. They require an attendance fee to be paid by SFA members and other industry organizations. As such, these events are not automatically open to consumer-focused media outlets and organizations.
Those requesting media registration must be currently employed by an approved publication or news organization. Each organization is limited to no more than three media representatives, except newsletters, which are limited to one. Account representatives, sales executives, book authors, and engineers do not meet the criteria for media registration. You must fall under one of the following media guidelines to receive media registration:
Business and Trade Publications/News Wire Services.
Reporters and editors from business and industry magazines, newspapers, trade publications, and news services must provide a business card. Contributing editors and reporters must verify they have been retained to cover the SFA event by presenting a letter of assignment. Consumer-focused publications and news outlets will be admitted at the sole discretion of the Snack Food Association.
Television and Radio.
Broadcast reporters and producers from news organizations must provide a business card and a letter of assignment. These individuals will be admitted at the sole discretion of the Snack Food Association.
Freelance writers must verify they have been retained to cover the applicable SFA event by presenting a letter of assignment. These individuals will be admitted at the sole discretion of the Snack Food Association.
Reporters from online publications must provide a business card and a letter of assignment. The Website must contain editorial content and cover snack food industry issues. Personal web pages and blogs will not be accepted.
Newsletter reporters must verify they have been retained to cover the SFA event by presenting a letter of assignment. Newsletter publications will be limited to one media representative.
The deadline for advance registration is one week prior to the event. After this date, media representatives will need to register on-site at the SFA registration desk or press room.
All members of the media who have not registered in advance must register on-site. Please review the media qualifications to determine if you qualify for media registration. You must submit all documentation, as specified on this page. No exceptions will be made.
**Please Note: Even if you have qualified for SFA media credentials in the past, you must re-qualify for each subsequent SFA conference.

General sessions and seminars
*Photography and video cameras are prohibited on the exhibit floor, except with the specific approval of companies to be photographed. This approval must be submitted in writing in advance to SFA's media representative, who must accompany the photographer or videographer on the trade show floor and who has the authority to approve or disapprove of specific shoots or images.
Attendance at ticketed events - those that require pre-registration and/or a fee to attend, such as receptions or meals - is at the discretion of the Snack Food Association.
Reproduction of materials such as abstract data, posters, presentation slides, etc., requires first obtaining permission from the listed author(s) and/or presenter(s) as well as from any individual or group that may hold copyright on the material. Journalists violating copyright may have their press credentials withdrawn.
